Virtual Field Trips

Virtual Field Trips

SD23 Virtual Field Trips connect SD23 students to scientists, astronauts, researchers, authors, and other experts from around the world via live videoconference. Our students have spoken to astronauts live on the International Space Station, taken part in forensic autopsies, swam with divers on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, spoken to WWII Holocaust survivors, and participated in live dinosaur digs in Utah and New Mexico (just to name a few!).
This session will be of interest to educators/administrators/IT professionals who are looking to expand their offerings in a world of shrinking budgets. We will cover implementation, technology, and costs associated with connecting students to world class experiences without leaving their classrooms. The following topics will be addressed:
• History of our program
• Funding
• Technology
• Building connections
• Future directions
• Questions/Answers
